Episode 12 of “Hangout Madness” was AWESOME! Partly because it was on one of our favorite topics (YouTube Marketing), but more importantly because we had such an amazing guest. Bill Winterberg, the technology wizard that caters to Financial Advisors (and the brains behind FPPad.com), gave our viewers some incredible tips and tricks to be utilizing while doing YouTube Marketing for Financial Advisors.
So what were some of the main takeaways from today’s YouTube Marketing for Financial Advisors?
During this live Google Hangout event, Bill tells us how important the video thumbnail is in regards to total views of your video. He also explains why it is one of the easiest things to change, while also one of the highest returns on investment in terms of total views. You can see how easily (in just minutes) we took a screenshot of our live video and put some quick text over it and added as our video thumbnail (below).
We also discussed some of the top mistakes that Bill and I see financial advisors making with their videos including:
- Not creating benefit rich headlines for their videos
- Leaving the video description blank
- Not putting in live links back to their site, blog, another video, etc
- Not using annotations to act as powerful calls to action
Some other great “YouTube Marketing for Financial Advisors” advice was to just get out there in front of a camera and take some swings. Bill uses a great analogy about baseball players having to “strike out” thousands of times to become great ball players. Same goes with videos. If you look back at my first videos (and back at Bill’s first video with FPPad), they look a bit amateur compared to where we both are today. And that is completely natural! Every expert (from doctors, athletes, attorneys, advisors, or video gurus) all started out as “newbies”.
So don’t delay another day on doing your first video! Start today!
And don’t forget to watch the entire interview with Bill above. You will certainly learn an incredible amount about YouTube Marketing for Financial Advisors!
