“Wow” is about all I can say regarding Episode 17 with special guest Matt Sapaula. Not only did we have a freaking blast on our live event during St. Patrick’s Day, but we also gave financial advisors a lot to think about in regards to marketing, branding, niches, and not going extinct. If you don’t know who Matt Sapaula is, he is known around the country as the “Money Smart Guy” and he gave our audience some awesome tips on how to avoid Financial Professional Extinction.
What are the steps to avoiding Financial Professional Extinction?
As Matt outlined in our 30 minute live Google Hangout, growing a thriving practice with a huge book of ideal clients it isn’t as tough as many financial professionals think. It starts with starting to act like a real entrepreneur and invest in your business. You need to be thinking more like a business person and less like a technician if you want to stay alive in this ever changing industry. And most importantly, to create a unique business model and business story that looks completely different than any of your competitors.
Because the most common mistake both Matt and I see financial advisors and agents make is blending in…which ultimately means you are a “Commodity selling Commodities”, and that is a recipe for disaster.
Matt even showed us how he is sticking out like a “Purple Cow” by doing Money Smart Movement workshops in a cigar store where his prospects and clients can come smoke fine cigars and sip whiskey. He even branded it as “Cigars, Wealth, and Whisky“. And guess what? His clients and prospects LOVE it. And they know right away that Matt is different and that he is not a commodity.
Finally, Matt discussed his iSmart system that consists of the following:
- Internet presence
- Article Writing (blogs, videos, articles, etc)
Make sure to watch the entire hangout with Matt Sapaula as I am certain that you will learn a thing or two from this incredibly inspiring guy. He started at the bottom with nothing and now has a huge empire of Money Smart niches and groups. And as Matt says, if he can do it, so can you. You just have to think big and have the burning desire to help as many people as you can.
I am certain that those who get there will never have to worry about Financial Professional Extinction.
