May Madness is among us…
Which not only means 75% off of our popular “Ultimate Digital Marketing Recipe“, but it also means some content packed live Google Hangouts with myself and “push-up boy Luke Simonds”. And in this week’s hangout, we had a special web developer guest on who showed us exactly what a direct response website for financial advisors should look like.

What exactly is a Direct Response Website for Financial Advisors?
If you don’t even know that direct response marketing is, don’t feel bad. It wasn’t that long ago that I had no idea as well. Moreover, I am willing to bet that many financial advisors and insurance agents don’t know exactly what it means either. In simple terms, direct response marketing is marketing or advertising that intends to drive a specific call to action, also known as a direct response. Usually, direct response marketing is aimed at a specific target or niche, and the targeted prospects are usually given something for free (education, booklet, e-book, real book, all the way to a free cruise) just for giving up their information. Of course the “size of the prize” (aka “Freebie) is all dependent upon how much each lead is worth to you. Clearly, you wouldn’t give away a cruise if you were selling something that was less than the cost of the cruise.
Now although what I have described so far is probably either obvious or something that most of you already know about marketing, I rarely see it used correctly on financial advisor websites. And if you have any amount of traffic on your website and don’t incorporate direct response marketing tactics, then you are losing money my friend. And my job is to help you stop losing money, to start making more money, and to start working smarter and more efficient.
An Example of a Direct Response Website for Financial Advisors
First, I would definitely recommend you watching this entire live hangout above as we give some great tips away including the 2 most important questions to ask any web developer that you are about to pay money to.
Here is the first question: “Are you familiar with direct response marketing on websites?”
If the web developer says No, then find a new one.
(you will have to watch the live hangout to find out the rest).
Finally, here is an example of the main page of a great looking (and not that expensive) direct response marketing website.
If you would like to see the live example, go to Advisor Jet Pack.
Finally, I love to hear from financial advisors who have questions, thoughts, or concerns on digital marketing. Please post any comments or questions below and don’t forget to share this blog if you found it helpful.
